Sukano additives improve mechanical properties and function of straps, monofilaments and fibers, from recycled as well as from virgin material.
Straps are plastic packaging tapes, used as a cost and weight efficient alternative to the previously used black steel straps for wrapping pallets and goods. The straps are produce using profile extrusion and made from PET or PP, often with recycled plastics as raw material. For PET this means that flakes from PET bottles are used, which makes the strap even more environmentally friendly. Other benefits from using plastic straps are less corrosion, improved safety during use and better elongation.
To enhance the properties and simplify the usage of PET straps, Sukano’s products for straps can be used to:

By definition monofilaments are continuous, thin circular profiles, with a length more than one meter. The monofilaments are produced using profile extrusion and then end up in very varied applications like fishing lines, ropes, filters or wigs. A handful different polymers are used, with PP, PA, PE and PET being some of the more common.
Sukano’s products for monofilaments can be used to achieve:

Polymer fibers are continuous filaments, often spun into ropes or weaved into textiles. The production of polymer fibers is done using profile extrusion and often the raw material used is PET or other polyesters. Advantages for polymer fibers over natural fibers include amongst others higher strength, resistance to moisture and chemicals and less prone to wrinkles.
To further enhance the properties of fibers, Sukano’s products for fibers can:
