The latest development for recyclable and temperature-resistant PET applications for packaging is called CPET-light. A possible alternative for PP, which can not be circular if recyclable as it will not be food grade. Sukano has developed a nucleating masterbatch that can be used to extrude a transparent film that is dimensionally stable up to 100°C.

For a long time, the reuse of PET was either limited to fiber applications or downcycled. Today, the demand for recycling is high, which calls for innovative products and functionalities that address the poor quality and lack of standardization of the current bale profiles, and the waste stream technology requirements. Get a closer look into alternative ways to enable higher and better recycling content while retaining the properties of the original PET applications.

Transparent Impact Modifier for cold, flash frozen and room temperature applications (21.10.2022 at 2 pm)

Replacing non-recyclable frozen food trays with recyclable PET monomaterial structures while increasing the use of RPET. Sukano’s transparent Impact Modifier for cold, flash frozen, and room temperature applications allows the replacement of specialized co-polyester resins with recycled or virgin PET resins that are modified with a new masterbatch. It is our solution for increasing the RPET content in the end application and maximizing the use of PET. 

PEF: a new sustainable bioplastic alternative

Sukano aims to accelerate the growth of the sustainable, circular, and high-performance plastic material PEF by developing white masterbatches for PEF fibers and antiblock masterbatches for BOPEF films. The plant-based bioplastic material answers the demand for a circular plastics economy. This project is a collaboration with Avantium, a pioneer in the industry of renewable and sustainable chemistry. Come and take a look at the PEF yarn and BOPEF films during K 2022, produced with the PEF-based Sukano masterbatch.
