Avantium
Avantium develops and commercializes innovative technologies to produce materials based on sustainable carbon feedstocks. Their most advanced technology is the YXY® Technology that catalytically converts plant-based sugars into FDCA (furandicarboxylic acid), the key building block for the sustainable plastic PEF (polyethylene furanoate). PEF is known under the brand name releaf®, an EU registered trademark of Avantium.
We partnered with Avantium to facilitate fast adoption of PEF in many diversified markets, accelerating the growth of PEF and reducing the environmental impact of the plastics industry.
PEF Masterbatch Development
Together with Avantium, we developed masterbatches for PET-film applications and we conducted comprehensive lab trials in our in-house technical and analytical laboratory, producing biaxially oriented PEF films for packaging applicaitons.
